Terms of Use

Last updated: 5 October 2026

In short

The demo is illustrative and not credit advice. Commercial use of AfriScore, including any pilot, is governed by a separate written agreement.

01

Agreement to these terms

By accessing or using afriscore.africa (the "Site"), including the demo, the API reference and the try-it console, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. If you use the Site for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.

02

What the Site is

AfriScore is an early-stage alternative credit-scoring company. The Site describes our work and lets you try an illustrative demo and a pilot-stage API console. It is not a lending service and does not offer credit.

03

Illustrative demo and no advice

The demo uses a local, illustrative scoring model trained on synthetic data. Nothing on the Site, including any score, tier, decision or suggestion, is a certified credit score, a lending decision, or financial, legal or investment advice. No lending decision should be made on the basis of the Site.

04

Use of the demo and API console

Use them for evaluation only, and do not enter real personal data of real people. The try-it console calls a pilot-stage API without service guarantees, and we may limit, change or suspend access at any time. Production use of the API requires a separate written agreement.

05

Pilot program and commercial services

Submitting a pilot application or contacting us does not create a binding agreement. Participation in a pilot, and any paid service, is governed only by a separate written agreement signed by both parties.

06

Acceptable use

You agree not to interfere with or disrupt the Site or its infrastructure, attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, the API or related systems, scrape or copy the Site at a volume that burdens it, reverse engineer or extract the scoring model except where the law expressly allows it, use the Site to break the law or the rights of others, or submit malicious code or false information.

07

Intellectual property

The Site, its text, design, scoring methodology, branding and software are owned by AfriScore or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Parts of the engine may be released under an open licence as the project matures, and the Research page states what is available. Beyond what such a licence allows, you may not copy, adapt or distribute our materials without permission. You may quote short extracts with attribution.

08

Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, you allow us to use them to improve our products without obligation to you.

09

Third-party sites and services

The Site links to and relies on third-party services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or terms.

10

Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and the demo are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

11

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AfriScore and its founders, team and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of or reliance on the Site or the demo. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12

Suspension

We may restrict or end your access to the Site or any part of it at any time, including if we believe you have broken these terms.

13

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. The version posted here, with its date, applies. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
